Ebenezer School & Home for the Blind was established in Pokfulam in 1913 to shelter orphaned blind girls. After several relocations during the two World Wars, the Hong Kong Jockey Club funded the construction of Ebenezer Old Age Home for aging blind women in 1954. Ebenezer Old Age Home was established in 1955 with the generous donation from The Royal Hong Kong Jockey Club, accommodating 27 blind elderly women.
In 1956, Ebenezer School for the Blind became a registered school and was fully subvented by the Government. Before that, Ebenezer was mainly financed by funds from Hildesheimer Blindenmission.
